Kirk Places 7th in competitive Rhode Island 70.3 Pro Field.
Having a strong all-around day, Kirk managed 7th Overall. A bitter-sweet event, this race proved to be a character builder for Kirk. Starting the run strongly in 8th, Kirk moved into 7th only to experience significant cramping and one wrong turn costing him a conservatively estimated 3 minutes of time on the run. Feeling frustrated and defeated, the cramping situation slowly improved and he came back in the last 8 miles of the run, posting an 1:18:49 run split and placing 7th.
Next up is Calgary IM 70.3!

Kirk betters course record at Colorado Multisport Summer Open Triathlon
Racing locally at Union Reservoir in Longmont, Kirk enjoyed a win and course record of 54:42 for the "true" sprint triathlon. "I love racing local grassroots events like the Without Limits races. It's a great opportunity to race and visit with local athletes, friends, and sponsors. Charity was sprinting her 4-week pregnant butt EVERYWHERE on the course cheering and yelling and having a blast!" A "training" race for the upcoming Quassy Half Rev June 6, Kirk is looking forward to toeing the line with several of the worlds best athletes on what should be a fair, challenging course.

Tri Kirk kits in action. I raced in Kansas on June 14th, and had a pretty good day. Coming off 3 weeks of good training I finished as the 12th pro in a stacked field including Tim Deboom, Tim O'donnell, Stephen Hackett, and Simon Thompson. Leading into this race I was battling the flu and I am pleased with how I progressed during my few good weeks of training. I was able to put my new racing suits to the test, and as expected they ROCK! The fit is brilliant, and they whole kit is incredibly comfortable. A lot of my atheletes were there racing, and everyone had a great day. Immediatly after the race I ventrued North with my Dad, and we began a week or so long motorcycle trip. I plan to return to Boulder at the end of June. My next race will be Boulder Peak, and I look forward to competing in another stacked field. I still have Tri Kirk kits available so please email me for sizing and pricing.
See you out there...

I raced Wildflower on May 2nd. Thursday before the race I came down with a head cold, that has now turned into flu like symptoms. I did not feel great during the race and I started to fade at the end of the bike. I started the run feeling a lot better, but as the run drew to a close I began to fade again. While this is not what I had hoped for, I did have a lot of fun hanging out with the FCA Endurance crew before and after the race. Wildflower is a great weekend, if you have never been it is worth checking out. Great vibe! I am looking forward to getting healthy, training hard, and rebounding at Kansas IM 70.3. A lot of training partners and friends will be in Lawrence racing, it will be a lot of fun!

March 2009
I am happy to announce that my LOOK 596 bike has arrived. I can not express how excited I am to try out this new bike. I find the bike fit to be a very important process and I am very excited to build up and dial in my new machine. I will be building this bike with Red components from SRAM and I will work with CMS for my bike fit.
I just returned from a wonderful 3 week training trip to California. It was great to get out, enjoy the weather, and get some good consistent training in. Check out the blog for pictures from the trip. During the trip I raced, and won, the Toyota Desert International. I felt good during the race and it was a great way to start the season. I am starting to see my training, under my new coach, take off. Up next is Wildflower. Last year I had a break out bike and a wonderful race. I am looking to do the same this season and hopefully I will be able to build on last years result.
I am currently in the design process of my new uniform. Watch for updates on this as I will have a limited number of TriKirk kits available for sale. When the uniform is finalized I will be posting pictures on the website.
February 2009
"TriKirk Racing is pleased to announce more exciting new sponsors on board for the 2009 season! This year I will be racing with the support of Blueseventy, Gu, Look bikes, Colorado Multisport, Zipp, Sram, Rotor rings, Zeal Optics, ISM Seats, North Boulder Chiropractic, Tri Massage, and Cycle Ops as sponsors for 2009. Please check out the sponsors section of my website for details on these great companies."
"I just recently arrived in California for a training camp. I will be working out just NE of Los Angeles in Valencia, I must say that I will miss the Boulder area but I am hoping that I have a couple weeks of nice warm, sunny, weather a head of me. I will also be racing the Toyota Desert International Triathlon on March 8, 2009 just south east of Palm Springs, CA. This will serve as a good way to open my season. The distances are just shorter than an Olympic distance triathlon but I am excited to get out and race!! If you are in the area please drop me a hello or come out and cheer!"
